Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign hopes to provide aid to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.
An Opportunity for Support and an "Chart Upset"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”
Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.
“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”
Production History and Featured Artists
The single was laid down after a solidarity show held in the autumn. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the piece was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.
The notable list of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a group of well-known figures from the industry. All took part in the benefit event, which reportedly raised a significant sum for relief efforts.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of producers and composers. The track blends a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.
The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an established charity.
“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a representative commented. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”
The situation in the territory was noted for its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.
“Against that backdrop, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and showing there’s another side to the story.”
The song is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a digital service from mid-December.
