Loyal fans of the pop star are calling for that a person who breached a barrier and grabbed the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A viral video shows the Australian man shoving aside media personnel and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a promenade accompanied by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being detained", though official papers indicated that he was set to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.

Record of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account includes clips of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Safety

Many supporters blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said another response on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted event staff at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In clips shared widely, Grande seemed startled when she was touched by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Hundreds of Singapore attendees had waited to meet the actors of Wicked

Many of attendees had gathered in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as many hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be released on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film adaptation of the popular Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a derivative of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning film of the previous year in the UK, and earned a dozen Oscar nominations, winning two for best costume and artistic direction.
