The Streaming Giant Casts Spot-On Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Mr. 2. The role possesses the power to change into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the source material and animated series.

The new cast member joins a number of recently announced actors tasked with bringing the organization to the screen, including chief the main antagonist, brought to life by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.

Although Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the character won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering the second season likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this marks a significant shift in the timing of their first appearance, one that could indicate additional alterations to the plot development.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the part. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.

The platform’s adapted One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on March 10, 2026.
