Vehicles in German City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report
Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they reported.
Police then located numerous other smeared vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.
City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the residents for details.
A senior official stated the vandalism left him stunned and had to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
